Electric Car Charging FAQs
The UK Government has a grant called the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme, which came into force from January 2019. The grant is a 75% contribution towards the cost of one charge point and its installation up to a maximum of £500 (including VAT) per household/eligible vehicle.
Customers must provide evidence of ownership or lease of the vehicle and be named as the primary user. The vehicle you have must be an eligible electric vehicle to be able to qualify. The grant must only be claimed by installers that are authorised by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and have approval from a charge point manufacturer to install their equipment.
